I always thought Fairport Convention came from Muswell Hill, London N10.

They were indeed formed in Muswell Hill at Simon Nicol’s parents’ house, “Fairport”. In the 1970s, Dave Swarbrick, and then Dave Pegg, moved to Cropredy in Oxfordshire. The band played a farewell concert there in ‘79 and have (with the exception of ‘81) staged the Cropredy Festival every year since then, very much becoming part of the Oxfordshire landscape.
